Good Morning Family and Friends!
I miss you all! I hope this email finds you well.
This email is to inform you that I AM A REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONAL! I am working with Carolina One Real Estate in James Island with Kristen Dixon. We have some very exciting news to share so if you would like to stay updated, please respond and let me know!
Also, give us a follow on Instagram @follybeachproperties
If you know of anyone talking about moving or investing in property in the Charleston Area, please keep our names in mind! I would greatly appreciate it.
Please read on if you would like to hear my story!
The pandemic broke us down but then built us all back up. We came back stronger, with more knowledge and a fond appreciation of whom we decide to surround ourselves with. I, personally, have developed a deeper respect for the place that I live - my lifestyle especially.
As most of you know, I moved to Folly Beach after leaving Frostburg in 2006. I knew I wanted to ditch the snow boots and soggy jeans for flip flops and bikini tops. Although I still love my snowboard, I fell more in love with surfing - which introduced me to my incredible community.
Dipping my toes into professional life in Charleston, I had a few jobs in town before I was introduced to working for a general contractor. This connection eventually led me to an incredible full-time opportunity with events. I traveled A LOT. I felt very disconnected with my community. I saw the grass was greener to every destination I visited (cough - San Diego). I didn't appreciate where I lived as much. It was bizarre.
*Fast forward to March 2020* During the pandemic, our community kept us afloat. We relied on each other to help us through all the frustration and uncertainty. City officials decided to close the island down and make it accessible to residents only, as Folly Beach is only one way in and one way out. Again, I fell in love with Folly Beach and it's beautiful residents, all over again. During this time period, we surfed empty waves, rode our bikes in the middle of the street and reconnected with neighbors whom we rarely saw. My favorite part was keeping to a 4 o'clock happy hour routine, setting sail around the island on the golf cart; stopping in neighbors yards to have socially distant cocktails in HydroFlasks.
Eventually, I lost my job. It was scary but as always - life goes on and everything WILL BE OK. One day in December I received a message from a friend, Kristen - she, her husband (Pat) and two small, adorable boys (Calvin and Caster) - live on the West side of the Island. She is an experienced sailor and surfer who is the epitome of someone whom I aspire to be like. Kristen calls Pat her "Ace in Her Back Pocket" as Pat helps out with many real estate transactions regarding home renovation, structure or damage questions. The duo thrives by Kristen finding homes to purchase, while utilizing Pat's expert home building skills to flip houses into trendy rentals (take a peek here at just one of their rental properties: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/23415374?guests=1&=1&s=67&unique_share_id=9a32e943-1190-4c47-a324-1bf34bcc1bff).
During the pandemic, her business did the exact opposite as mine - everyone decided that they wanted to ditch the city lifestyle and get a slice of paradise - aka move to Charleston. Kristen needed help! She asked me to be a Real Estate Assistant and eventually proposed going for my license. I did it!
Kristen is my lifeline into real estate with strong experience and a determined attitude. She is very laid back but incredibly knowledgeable as this is what attracts her clients naturally to her. I'm ON BOARD.
I am lucky and incredibly excited to be working with her. I hope you follow our journey!
Cheers,
Sarah
